The Settle Circular (38 miles) - We particularly like the day cycle rides featured on the cycle routes website, including the Settle Circular. A classic circuit in limestone country travelling through some of the best known Dales villages.
The Gargrave to Kettlewell Cycle Route (49 miles) - North Yorkshire offers some wonderful opportunities for cycling. Try out this route which passes through Bank Newton.
Gisburn Forest Mountain Biking – Less than half an hour’s drive from Newton Grange you can explore the Forest of Bowland, joining the popular mountain biking trails in Gisburn Forest.
The Pennine Cycleway (Route 68) runs between Holmfirth and Appleby, and passes through Bank Newton just ½ mile away from Newton Grange. Follow it through Gargrave and Airton and enjoy a rewarding climb over the hill in to Settle. Continue along the route or spend a leisurely afternoon in Settle, and bring your bike back on the train to Gargrave. Find out more.
The Yorkshire Dales Cycleway is a challenging 130 mile circular route through the Yorkshire Dales National Park. You can join the route in Skipton or Gargrave, and cycle through pretty Malham, Settle, Ingleton, Dent, Hawes, Swaledale, Coverdale, Kettlewell, Wharfedale and Grassington. Find out more.
Cycle 2 miles to Gargrave station and take the train to Settle, to enjoy a bike ride in dramatic countryside and a wonderful choice of cafes in the market square.
